John Brockman is a cultural impresario whose career encompasses the art world, science, books, software and the Internet. In the 1960s he coined the word ‘intermedia’ and pioneered ‘intermedia kinetic environments’ in art, theatre, and commerce. In 1973, he formed Brockman, Inc., the international literary agency for serious nonfiction. In 1996 he co-founded the nonprofit Edge Foundation, Inc. and he is publisher and editor of Edge, a conversation among the world’s brilliant thinkers and third culture intellectuals. He is the author or editor of more than 40 books. He is the author of By the Late John Brockman and The Third Culture.
