Bernard Stiegler


Bernard Stiegler is a philosopher and the Director of the Institute of Research and Innovation. He is President of Ars Industrialis, an association he founded in 2006, as well as a Professor of Philosophy at the Institute of Advanced Studies of Nanjing, and Visiting Professor at the Academy of the Arts of Hangzhou. He is the author of Technics and Time, 1: The Fault of Epimetheus (1994), Technics and Time, 2: Disorientation (1996), Technics and Time, 3: Cinematic Time and the Question of Malaise (2000), and 25 other works including Symbolic Misery, Volume 1: The Hyper-Industrial Epoch (2006), Symbolic Misery, Volume 2: The Catastrophe of the Sensible (2006), Automatic Society, Volume 1: The Future of Work (2015), L'emploi est mort, vive le travail! (with Ariel Kyrou) (2015) and The Neganthropocene (2018).
